A Closer Look at the Atmosphere
The Earth’s atmosphere consists of a mixture of gases, held in place by the gravitational pull of the
Earth. Without it, we would be burned by the intense heat of the sun during the day or frozen by
the very low temperatures at night.
1. Cut out the labels and glue them in the correct positions on the diagram below. Place the
names for each layer (the grey boxes) on the right-hand side of the diagram. Place the
objects found within those layers (white boxes) in the middle of the diagram.
